The emergence of Dacquoise can be traced back to the classic royal desserts of France in the 17th century. They were named after the town of hot spring "Dax" in southwestern France, where they originated. Made from egg whites, almond, and sugar, they are baked to form a crispy outer shell with a soft and light interior.
